Welcome to Ventura City Firefighters Association, Local 3431. Our Local was established in 1959 and has been working hard ever since to take care of our members and their families. We are currently over 80 members strong. We are an International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) affiliate and part of California Professional Firefighters (CPF) 2nd District.
The primary goals for Local 3431 are to improve our member’s wages, working conditions, and benefits. We work diligently to get our members a seat at the table, protect their rights, and ensure their physical and mental health. These items and many more can be found in our Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and By-Laws which have been included in this packet. Also, enclosed are names and pictures of our city council. Get familiar with who they are and what district they represent as these relationships play a big role within our local.
The leadership team for Local 3431 consists of our Executive Board. These five positions are President, Vice President, Second Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, and Insurance Coordinator. Be sure to become very familiar with this team as they will help you with every aspect of being a Ventura City Professional Firefighter. Pictures and information on your executive team are enclosed, get familiar with who they are as you may work for them or with them in the near future.
You are now an integral part of this membership so be sure to participate and have your voice heard. You have voting rights, so be sure you are informed on the issues by networking with as many of our members as possible so you can have an informed and meaningful vote.
